According to the New Testament Bible, the resurrection of Jesus, which Easter celebrates, is a foundation of the Christian faith. God has given Christians “a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. Christians, through faith in the working of God are spiritually resurrected with Jesus so that they may walk in a new way of life.

In the bible, you can find the story pertaining to the Easter Sunday story at the following bible verses: John 19:16-20:30. According to the story, Maria Magdalena and some of Jesus Christ’s followers were shocked when they saw that the stone covering Jesus Christ’s tomb was opened. Two of His apostles came in namely Peter and John. John, upon seeing that the tomb was opened, immediately believed Jesus Christ’s resurrection. However, Peter doubted and insisted to come inside to inspect Jesus Christ’s body and found none.
